While exactly who is performing is secret until the day here is a list (in no particular order) of who you have the opportunity to see over the 24 days.

Redlands String Quartet
Redlands String Quartet are a group of friends who have been playing together for many years around the Berkshire area. They will be playing a mixture of Christmassy tunes, some classical and some not so much!

Louise and Sarah
Louise is an operatic and musical theatre soprano and Sarah is a pianist specialising in accompaniment in the vocal world. Louise and Sarah have been working together for several years, and this evening present to you a taster of both operatic and musical theatre repertoire. Enjoy!

Thames Valley Chorus
Thames Valley Chorus are an all male choir who sing in four-part, close harmony, a-cappela style. They are delighted to perform a selection of seasonal and up-tempo songs.

Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band
Formed in 1931, Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band is Wokingham’s local brass band. Based at Saint Sebastian School on Nine Mile Ride, they rehearse twice a week to prepare for their many public appearances throughout the year. Their calendar includes competitions, concerts, summer fetes and a range of community and civil events such as the Town’s Sunny Saturdays, fireworks parade, winter carnival, remembrance ceremonies…and of course the Living Advent Calendar!

Robert Otwinoski
Musician and composer. Born in Poland but now he lives in the UK permanently. In 1998 he was awarded, out of 160 bands, the 2nd prize by one of the most impostant music magazines in Poland “Guitar & Bass” for “Festival Music & Show” in the Jazz/Blues category. Between 2000 and 2008 he was twice, a finalist in Master Competition for Jazz Guitar players “Guitar City” in Warsaw.

Wokingham Choral Society
Wokingham Choral Society was formed in July 1951 and membership is now over 100 singers. WCS performs two classical concerts a year with professional orchestras and soloists; a charity Christmas carol concert and a summer concert of a lighter music. Each summer the choir goes on tour. Hula Monkeys
The Hula Monkeys bring an eclectic-electric mix of old and new favourites from their varied music collections – all on Ukulele!
The Ukulele as you’ve never heard it before – this ain’t no George Formby.

Jaxannah is a close harmony singing group offering a mix of light music with seasonal favourites. We are Wokingham based. This is our 3rd year at the Living Advent Calendar.

Lydia Shute
I’m Lydia and studying for my A-levels, including Music, at the Holt Sixth Form. I often busk and perform at local open mic events and have been playing the guitar for two years. I also play the ukulele and am learning to play piano. I have really enjoyed being part of the Living Advent for the past two years and was so pleased to be invited back. I’d love to have a career in the music industry in the future and am looking into possible university courses for after I leave school.

Love Shovel
Love Shovel is a stripped funk and soul vibes duo. One of the best duos going around Berkshire, with Jack Craig on guitar and Marisa Rodriguez on vocals.

Wokingham Parents Christmas Concert
Wokingham Parents Christmas Concert speaks for itself. Gareth, Kendel and Pauly come together as parents of children from St Teresa’s School. They all became friends and realised they all loved music and decided to put together a little trio to perform for Christmas. They all have backgrounds in music and performance and it was a fun idea to get together for this occasion.

The Barbarettes
We are the Barberettes, based in Woodley, Berkshire who are a dynamic, award winning ladies chorus who sing unaccompanied in four part a cappella harmony. We perform regularly around Berkshire and beyond with our repertoire spanning 100 years of popular music. You can book us for birthdays, xmas parties, corporate events, weddings and more!

Pauly Zarb
Pauly, originally from Australia, has performed music since the age of 4. His dream to play music at a young age on an international scene became reality and he found himself living in Kentucky, USA touring the nation with his music. He has written many songs that have been played on Radio and he has performed in theatres, festivals and many concert venues. He has opened shows for legends such as Tommy Emmanuel, Willie Nelson, Keith Urban and Little Feat. He resides in Wokingham now and has become a local musician still with big aspiration’s to inspire people with music.

Mia Turner
Mia Turner – age 17 is currently studying at Arts Educational School London. She has a love for the Performing Arts and has been a part of several West End shows.
She hopes to pursue a career as an actress, working in TV and film as well as theatre.

Gary Millard
Hailing from Wokingham and fresh from an amazing run of shows supporting the like of UK Country #1 Single artist Katy Hurt and the legendary Wurzels, Gary released his debut EP “The Wishing Tree” with great success and brings his own style of Folk/Rock back for Christmas.

Kids Concert
The Kids Concert is compiled of local young musicians who are keen to put their practise into performance. They are all wonderful musicians in their own right and bring such original and individual sounds to the performance. Always full of energy and lots to give.

Lorna James
We all know life can be hectic. This evening we’d like to share with you some elegant, easy-going songs to offer a bit of a balance, along with plenty of Christmas cheer! Lorna specializes in stylish, sophisticated songs with a jazz, swing and soul focus, featuring songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Al Green, Gladys Knight and so many more. So kick
back, relax and enjoy Lorna James’ rich vocals and this classic set of Christmas songs!

Matt McNaughton
Matt is a saxophonist and singer who has been working as a professional musician for the last 13 years. He has played at venues and festivals all over the world and has worked in theatre, recorded for film and T.V., and featured on many other recordings.
He will be perfoming a mixture of soul, jazz and pop tunes alongside the wonderful multi-instrumentalist Pauly Zarb.
